Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park Birding
Eliana Ardila Kramer (bilingual) & Marc Kramer from Birding by Bus will lead this half-day trip at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park on Key Biscayne. The park opens at 8 AM and the trip will begin at 8:15 AM, returning at approximately 11 AM. Meet at No Name Harbor (from the entrance station, take your first right and drive west to the parking area, GPS: 25.675860, -80.160513). Costs include an entrance fee to the park and the Rickenbacker Causeway toll.

Shorebirding at Crandon Park, Miami
NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED AND WILL BE RE-SCHEDULED IN 2023.
Marc Kramer from Birding by Bus will lead this half-day shorebird identification workshop at Crandon Park on Key Biscayne. The focus of this workshop will be to apply the strategies discussed at the “Secrets of Shorebird Identification: Simplifying the Impossible” presentation at Leica Store Miami the previous evening. Much of the morning will be spent in areas on Crandon Beach where wintering shorebirds congregate. A visit to Crandon Gardens (the old zoo) will follow if time permits.
The workshop will begin at 7:30 AM, returning at approximately 11 AM. Enter the park via the South Beach entrance. Meet at the entrance to Crandon Gardens (GPS: 25.705931 -80.156577) at the south end of the park. Costs include a $7 parking fee (payable using PayByPhone) and the Rickenbacker Causeway toll (SunPass).
Registration required through Tropical Audubon Society.
Secrets of Shorebird Identification: Simplifying the Impossible
NOTE: THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED AND WILL BE RE-SCHEDULED FOR 2023.
Become familiar with the diversity of shorebirds in South Florida — and the best ways to identify them. Beginners and advanced birders alike will learn something about those birds zipping around the beach! Marc Kramer of Birding by Bus will give this 1-hour presentation at the Leica Store Miami entitled “Secrets of Shorebird Identification: Simplifying the Impossible”.
The lecture will be followed by a shorebird walk the following morning at Crandon Park. See event listing for details.
Kendale Lakes Park Birding
Eliana Ardila Kramer (bilingual) & Marc Kramer from Birding by Bus will lead this half-day trip for Tropical Audubon Society at Kendale Lakes Park in Miami, Florida. Meet at 7:30 AM in the parking area on SW 142 Avenue, adjacent to Kendale Lakes K-8 Center. No fee.
