Utqiagvik, formerly known as Barrow, is the northernmost community in Alaska. Positioned 300 miles above the Arctic Circle on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, this unique birding hotspot is home to a variety of fascinating bird species found in the high Arctic. With the rare and endangered Steller’s and Spectacled Eiders, three species of jaeger, and twenty-three species of shorebird in full breeding plumage, birders will delight in Utqiagvik’s avian bounty under the golden 24-hour sunlight of mid-June. Our small group tour size of maximum 6 participants insures a highly personalized experience.
